Llandogo River Festival
2014 saw the inaugeral Wye Valley River Festival, which took place from Hereford and travelled down the valley, passing through riverside villages and towns, to the River Severn at Chepstow. It is hoped that this will become a bi-annual festival celebrating the rich landscape and heritage of the beautiful River Wye. Llandogo hosted a riverside festival, picnic and highwire traverse across the river! During the evening the riverbanks were illuminated and a theatre performance with musical accompniament took place on both riverbanks, finishing with a spectacular firework display. This fantastic day has helped put Llandogo firmly on the map, and plans are already forming for 2016 - contact us at if you'd like to be involved!
All this was achieved with help from the Wye Valley AONB, the Desperate Men Theatre Group, And Now Pyrotecnics, and of course Anaspitos the Highwire Walker (AKA Chris Bullzini). Many local artists performed, volunteers gave their time, and local enterprises lent their support and expertise. We could not have done it without the help of all these wonderful people!
